Reproduction is the laying of eggs by queens. The amount of eggs that are laid per day are defined by the function:

The number of eggs a queen can lay is limited by the available nurses, but also by the queen's energy. Laying eggs requires energy, and a queen needs to keep a certain energy buffer to survive. It can also be configured how many eggs a queen can lay at maximum.
